CTS//TUA Summer school on sustainable futures

Posted on September 11, 2023January 11, 2024 by Babak Farshchian

My first academic activity in Vienna during my sabbatical was to attend the summer school organized by my colleague Hilda Tellioğlu and her group. I presented our newly published SIPA toolbox in a four-hour seminar to around 20 PhD students from a diverse disciplinary background.

I was asked to hold a half-day seminar on a relevant topic. I chose to present the SIPA toolbox from our newly published paper in the journal of CSCW. SIPA is short for Service-Inspired Practice Analysis. SIPA provides some tools to analyse practices that are part of larger service ecosystems. I presented SIPA as a tool to understand the ecosystem within which the outcome of a PhD project will exist, and how that outcome might affect the practices in its future ecosystem. My presentation is available for download.
