In this presentation we will look into how subject matter experts (SMEs) in Helseplattformen coped with the various demands of the role, and what type of knowledge they needed for effective participation. We will also discuss organizational conditions for effective employee participation.
User participation has been a central theme in the development of the Helseplattformen system. Even before the procurement phase, several employees participated as subject matter experts in the process of defining requirements. Throughout the project, more than 1,000 employees took part in various roles related to requirements specification, testing, implementation, and more.
We have conducted research on the participation process in Helseplattformen—how effective it was, and what types of knowledge the participating employees had or wished they had. In this presentation, we will present and discuss some of our findings.
